We had the Rapid Run Revue last weekend, which is our school's talent show. All of Grant's ensembles perform (about 200 kids) so it makes for a crazy time! They all did a really nice job, and my husband was his normal goofy self. He dressed up as a villain when his band played "The Incredibles." Another teacher dressed up as Mr. Incredible, and they staged a fight. The best part was when Tim (Mr. I) picked Grant up, flung him over his shoulder and spun him around. And then, of course, dropped him to the floor.....He still has a bruise! Grant's orchestra played "Pink Panther." Tim, the good sport, dressed up as the panther, and Grant dressed up as the inspector (he looked more like Sherlock Holmes) and they acted out a chase scene around the kids as they played. It was pretty funny and the kids got a huge kick out of it.
Even though it's a middle school talent show, we have a student tech crew that runs all the lights and sounds. So I was backstage being the "adult presence" for both show nights. It's always a good time, and I'm always totally exhausted at the end of it.
On Saturday last weekend, I had another shower. (And unfortunately, my camera was acting up-so I don't have any pictures to share.) We had a really nice time, and laughed a LOT. (Which, coincidentally tends to happen when Aunt Bon-Bon shows up!)
Sunday we spent the day working on the nursery. Grant put the dresser together (thanks mom and dad!), and then I filled it with all the diapers and clothes we've gotten so far. I'll take pictures once the camera starts behaving!
Last night I went out to dinner (Cheesecake Factory-Yum!) with Sarah and Laura. It was so good to see Laura, who's in town from California. There's just nothing better than quality time with the girls :) Not to mention that we got to go shopping afterwards, and I got the baby the CUTEST outfit to wear to the two weddings we have this summer.
Today is the last day of school before Spring Break and I am so excited! It will be so nice not to have the alarm go off at 5:40 every morning! I'm planning to sleep, get the nursery ready, and then get some quality family time in with Kristin and Jacob (yay!--I haven't seen them since last summer) and Mom and Dad A.
I'll try to post pictures soon.
