First Time Eating Cereal

Buster got the go-ahead from the doctor at his 4 month appointment this week to start eating cereal.  It was a so much fun to see Alex's reaction.  The poor kid had no idea what was going on!  He couldn't figure out how to swallow the cereal (even though it was pretty watery) and would cough and almost gag.  He has now started to get the hang of it.   He's also started apples-and loves those!

I decided to make my own baby food, and I am so glad I did!  So far I have made:  apples, bananas, sweet potatoes, green beans and pears.  Buying the fruits and veggies is relatively cheap, and this way I know exactly what Alex is eating.  All I have to do is:  clean the food, cut it up, steam or boil it, puree it in the blender, pour it in ice cube trays, and then freeze it.  It really is much easier than I thought!
Big Smile!
Hmmm...what is this mom?
My first bib:  "Don't mess with me.  I'm Treble!"  (A music joke for his Daddy:)
Yummy!
Buster has also found his tongue recently, and sticks it out all the time.  So funny!

Not so tasty!

So cute:) Love the dimples and the tongue! I made Em's baby food too...I agree - it's so easy (esp with the ice cube tray trick:) and I always felt better about knowing exactly what she was eating.
