I took 41 of my Spanish club members to the zoo a few weeks ago on a field trip. The kids really wanted to go to the zoo, so we went! They had to do a worksheet (for extra credit) and learn all about the names of animals in Spanish. And let me tell you, these kids were awesome! They had two hours to walk around, and every single one of them chose to do the work. Crazy! There was not a single behavior problem the whole time. The 3 other teachers (including Grant) and I just got to walk around and enjoy each other's company.
After the zoo, we went to Cancun restaurant for dinner. It was so yummy! And again, not a single issue with the kids. They were awesome. We were in a separate part of the restaurant, and most of the other customers didn't even realize we had been there when we left. That's how well behaved they were. I was so proud!
Here's a picture of a beautiful peacock!
Here's a picture of the peacock's booty :) He had these really funny fuzzy feathers. Hehehe...
A picture of me and Grant with the two polar bears. The one was sleeping with his paw hooked through his tire toy, and the other kept pacing back and forth. So cool!
I have lots of cute pictures of the kids too, but I don't feel comfortable posting them online. Just picture 41 8th graders wearing the same pink shirt I have on. (Yes-even the boys. They all voted for a pink club shirt!)
All in all, a very successful field trip. I will certainly miss these kids when maternity leave starts!
