One of my intentions for this blog was to chronicle our lives as a sort of scrapbook. So, to that end, here are some of Alex's recent accomplishments:
1. He said his first real word about 2 weeks ago! He says "ball" with a southern accent. So adorable! He also says "Mom-mom" and "Dada."
2. He waves bye-bye and really knows what it means. The other night we were over at my parents house hanging out. He went over, grabbed his blankie, walked towards the door and waved bye bye. Apparently he was ready to go home! So funny!
3. He will give kisses and hugs on command. Of course his kisses are open mouth, tongue out, slightly-awkward-to-receive-if-you're-not-his-mother kisses, but cute nonetheless. :)
4. His newest trick is to put both hands on his head whenever we say "Oh my goodness."
5. He will go get a diaper out of the box when either he wants a change or we ask for a diaper.
6. He is soooo brave at the waterpark! Our county parks have these awesome water parks for little ones. The first time we went, he wouldn't even let me put him down. The next time, he splashed with his feet in the puddles. The time after that, all bets were off. He runs everywhere! He lets the water spray him in his face, dances when he's splashed, and even goes down a medium-sized water slide with Daddy or Mama. He definitely takes after his daddy with his love of water. I can't believe how brave he is at just 12 months old.
7. He is now completely off of formula and drinking organic, whole, vitamin D milk. He refuses to drink it in a sippy cup--he spits it out, but takes it out of a bottle. So he still gets 1-2 bottles a day. He is eating a lot of new foods. Most notably, he eats a slice of peanut butter toast for breakfast each morning, just like daddy. :) He also likes slices of red peppers, LOVES yogurt, strawberries, and basically any fruit.
I'm sure I'm forgetting some things, so I'll add on to my list as they come to me :)
